King Conan: The Phoenix on the Sword #4 (of 4)

The return of Conan’s greatest foe—Thoth-Amon!

Tim Truman (W), Tomás Giorello (A), José Villarrubia (C), and Andrew Robinson (Cover)

On sale Apr 25 FC, 32 pages $3.50 Miniseries

The Rebel Four spring their trap on King Conan, sending assassins to slay the barbarian monarch in his sleep! After waking from a strange vision, Conan has his back up against a wall and his enemies in front of him—right where he wants them. If these traitors want his crown, they’ll have to take it! But even if Conan survives the assassination attempt, the evil wizard Thoth-Amon is back at full power and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike and take the throne for himself!

And I think it's spitting green cobwebs. That's probably unhealthy.

In this upcoming miniseries, Dark Horse returns to the exploits of Robert E. Howard's King Conan. Following last year's reintroduction of the series with King Conan: The Scarlet Citadel, the team behind Conan the Cimmerian once again take on the older Conan, now crowed king, in this adventure based on Howard's first Conan story. King Conan finds his throne in jeopardy in King Conan: The Phoenix on the Sword (though hopefully it's not the dragon fighting him for it). Here's the summary from issue #1:

First hailing Conan as a liberator after he annihilated Aquilonia's foes on the battlefield, common folk and politicians alike now rally to unseat the Cimmerian from his stolen throne. Conspirators plot to kill King Conan and take the crown for themselves, but their schemes pale in comparison to a terror waiting quietly in the wings--Thoth-Amon, an enemy who has haunted Conan his whole adult life and whose wicked aspirations dwarf those of maneuvering politicians!

Issue 1 of the 4 issue miniseries hits shelves January 25, with TWO different covers, one by Andrew Robinson and a variant by Gerald Parel. You can pick them up at your local comic book shop, or pre-order them now at Things From Another World.

Thanks to Dark Horse for giving us the scoop! We can't wait to read it.
